The upcoming Part of Perspectives offers articles related to service delivery in underserved regions of the world. I look forward to reading about the challenges that exist when one needs to determine the health services, systems, policies, societal attitudes, family relationships, and community life in those regions. These programs certainly require a great deal of exploration of needs and listening to community partners. Do we remember that listening and responding are the keys to offering patient/family centered care wherever we practice? Two recent articles (Ekberg, Grenness, & Hickson, 2014; and Grenness, Hickson, Laplante-Lévesque Meyer, & Davidson, 2015) highlight the need for audiologists to spend more time listening and responding to patient's psychosocial concerns. As a practitioner, I realize that I need to reflect on my own counseling in order to do so.
