In our stressful world where rising health-care costs, the refugee crisis, and gun violence have become secondary topics to the last 16 months of a national, political reality show, it is imperative that we preserve and declare our professional integrity as we enter the new year. As a witness to these national changes and events, Special Interest Group (SIG) 15 and its affiliates have the unique position of serving, treating, and supporting our parents' generation, who are currently in nursing institutions, hospitals, and homes. We have the responsibility of training, educating, and guiding our future generation of speech-language pathologists and audiologists through this current maelstrom of political, economic, and national change.
