On behalf of the Special Interest Group (SIG) 14 Coordinating Committee, I want to welcome new and returning affiliates to SIG 14 Cultural and Linguistic Diversity. We appreciate your commitment to promoting the interests and priorities of culturally and linguistically diverse individuals with communication impairments, their family and friends, and their providers. I was pleased to meet many of you at the 2016 SIG 14 affiliates meeting at the recent American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Convention in Philadelphia, PA. For those of you who could not be there, I want to share with you how wonderful it was to experience the benefit and responsibility of being an affiliate of SIG 14. We discussed the uncertainty and concerns we feel as we looked toward to the future and, more importantly, we encouraged each other to take action and work to shape a positive path forward.
