Dear Affiliates,
This is our final Perspectives contribution for 2016 and as such, I want to take this opportunity to thank our 2016 volunteers and contributors. The SIG 1 Coordinating and Editorial Review Committees will be saying goodbye to several committed volunteers who are completing terms of service in 2016. Kerry Howland, PhD, CCC-SLP was elected to the Coordinating Committee (CC) in 2014. Kerry served as the Perspectives Continuing Education manager for one year. In this role, she provided review of the self-study content and questions that our affiliates complete to earn CEs from our Perspectives articles. For the past two years, Kerry served as the associate coordinator, monitoring the SIG 1 work plan to facilitate completion of SIG 1 activities. In addition to her volunteer activities, Kerry transitioned to a new professional role as the Coordinator of Clinical Education/Director of the Academic Speech, Language and Hearing Center at Boston University. The committee and I will miss Kerry's careful attention to detail and her quiet wisdom. Amy Costanza-Smith, PhD, CCC-SLP, and Emily Rusnak, PhD, CCC-SLP, joined the SIG 1 Perspectives Editorial Review Committee in 2012. For the past six years, they completed reviews of Perspectives articles, providing input to clarify the content and to ask for further information when needed. Service on the Editorial Review Committee is a time-consuming, but important task! Without reviewers like Amy and Emily, we could not achieve the quality that our Perspectives readers have come to expect. On behalf of our SIG 1 affiliates, I want to extend our gratitude to Kerry, Amy, and Emily for their service and commitment to SIG 1.
