In this issue of Perspectives on Aural Rehabilitation and Its Instrumentation, we have four interesting and timely articles that focus on management of bothersome tinnitus. Marc Fagelson's article provides a compelling rationale for establishing interprofessional teams and referral networks to help people who experience bothersome tinnitus. Fatima Husain, Yihsin Tai, and Megan Finnegan review the literature regarding emotional processing of a person's reaction to chronic tinnitus, and describe non-auditory interventions for bothersome tinnitus. The article by Craig Newman and Sharon Sandridge provides a detailed description of a care path for managing bothersome tinnitus, as well as an explanation of the collaborative roles of several health professionals in managing bothersome tinnitus. Kim Wise and Elaine Ma overview tinnitus apps available on smartphones and highlight the need for an evidence base regarding the efficacy of these apps.
