Greetings Affiliates,
Happy New Year everyone! I have the privilege of serving as the coordinator of Special Interest Group (SIG) 16 for 2016. Over the years I have been extremely fortunate to have worked on the School-Based Coordinating Committee (formerly Steering Committee) with ALL of our past coordinators, DeAnne Owre, Fran Block, Christine Freiberg, and Laura Young-Campbell. They have guided the SIG through continued changes and growth. Each of these amazing women has been a mentor and a friend to me. Thank you to each of you! I am truly honored to follow in your footsteps.
I am also excited to introduce the rest of the 2016 Coordinating Committee. Gini Kelly continues to serve as our associate coordinator and she is joined on the committee by JoAnn Wiechmann, who is serving as our professional development manager. In addition, we have Carol Fleming and Sally Ann Giess, and joining us as our new Perspectives editor is Shannon Hall-Mills. Although not a Coordinating Committee member, Lisa Chattler is continuing as our continuing education (CE) manager. Deborah Dixon at the ASHA National Office will continue to serve as our ex officio.
